About Karen Steed, RN, FNP, CFMP
Education & Early Career
Karen Steed began her nursing career after graduating from Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, in 2005. She earned her master’s degree in nursing from Graceland University in 2008 and began practicing as a family nurse practitioner. Her own health challenges later led her to seek deeper answers through Functional Medicine, including more than two years of advanced training with leading experts nationwide.
Building Her Practice
In 2015, Karen opened her independent practice in Sherman, Texas, and continued to focus on Functional Medicine. She became certified through Functional Medicine University in 2018 and now helps patients identify root causes of illness and pursue lasting health through individualized care.
Patient-Centered Approach
With more than two decades of clinical experience, Karen brings a thoughtful, compassionate approach to patient care. She is committed to helping patients feel heard, supported, and empowered with care tailored to their needs and focused on long-term wellness.
Functional Medicine Practice
At Innovative Wellness Center, Karen looks beyond symptoms to understand the whole person. Through in-depth history review, personalized testing, and tailored care plans, she helps patients uncover contributors to illness and move toward balance and lasting wellness.
Her program includes four core visits that guide patients from discovery through long-term wellness, with additional follow-ups available as needed. Each step brings clarity, supports progress, and allows care to evolve over time.
